Overcoming Adversity
I am Toni. I am a woman in my 50’s and although I have experienced several successes and triumphs, for most of my life I have felt like a failure at the most and an imposter at the least. I have sat inside a personal blame and shame that was unrelenting.
Chasing the love of my mother, failed. A beauty pageant; failed. High school cheerleader; failed. Two marriages; failed. Waitressing; failed. Motherhood; failed. Addict; failed. Consistent job/career history; failed. Long lasting friendships; failed. College; failed.I have gone from living in a penthouse to looking for change in my car and couch to not having a car or couch at all.
Throughout the “failures” I have made a lot of money and lost it three times because of my inability to sustain the necessary vibration of self-worth. You see, I did not see them as ‘I failed’. I saw them as ‘I AM a failure. That mindset disqualified all of my good, all of my accomplishments, and all of my successes.
Ah, BUT THEN…
I was fortunate to be invited to participate in a simple talk about money. Who doesn’t want more money, right? That turned out to be one the best decisions I’ve ever made! Through my association with Wise Women of Wealth, I have been afforded tools like no other. Tools that taught me not only how to manage my money but also tools that taught me how to manage me!
I have come to realize – to know that I know- I can tell anyone my story but I no longer live in it. Honestly, through lots of tears and snot, the voice of failure is gone and has been replaced with a personal empowerment that can never be taken. I went into WWOW thinking it was only about finances. I came out realizing my net worth and my self-worth were related.
I am Toni. I am a woman, a mother, an entrepreneur in my 50’s who is a success. I see everything I went through and everything I learned is an asset on my balance sheet. I am using all of my assets to create sustainable wealth and legacy. I am proud of the wise woman I have become.
